Activities in the Houston area this November
If you’re looking for family-friendly activities in the Houston area this November, these events are can’t-miss. Read on to learn more.
- BakerRipley Houston Turkey Trot
The BakerRipley Houston Turkey Trot is an annual event that supports the BakerRipley non-profit’s mission to connect low-income individuals with opportunities that may help them achieve their dream life. BakerRipley has been serving our emerging communities for 112 years, and this year’s Turkey Trot is set to impact up to 600,000 people. The Turkey Trot will include three races in the Uptown Galleria area, each designed to appeal to runners of all experience levels and ages. The first race begins at 7:30 AM on Thanksgiving morning, so this could be a great activity for those who want to help their community before popping over to their family’s house for Thanksgiving turkey.
If a race isn’t your thing, the H-E-B Thanksgiving Parade is always a hit on Thanksgiving morning and has been for 70 years. This year, the parade begins at 9:00 AM in Downtown Houston and is free for all to attend. In typical parade fashion, there will be dancers, patrol cars, cheerleaders, marching bands, and perhaps even a few stormtroopers!
On November 18th from noon to 5 PM, Karbach Brewing Co. will be setting up their Friendsgiving Market to celebrate friendship, art, and good brew. The Art Market will take place in Karbach’s very own Biergarten. Attendees can expect wares from talented local artists, vintage curators, and local artisans. Despite the beer, the event is always family-friendly, and pets are welcome. This is a great opportunity to get some shopping done ahead of the holiday season, and a chance for those who missed the Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market to purchase some handmade goods.
Whatever you do to celebrate the start of the holiday season this month, I hope you have a fabulous time!
