   A budget-friendly option (read: free admission), the Menil Collection is a popular local art attraction that consists of several galleries, a bistro, a park, and a bookstore. 2. Buffalo Bayou Park

This park is one of the most famous in Houston and it’s no wonder why: Buffalo Bayou Park offers a restorative break from city life. The 160-acre park features bike paths, walking trails, art installations, performance and play areas, and incredible views of the bayou. It’s also commonly regarded as one of the best spots in Houston to take your dog since it has small and large enclosures. 3. Rent and Ride a Bike
   Speaking of Buffalo Bayou Park, you can ride a bike on the trails. Using Houston’s B-Cycle, you can rent a bike from multiple locations and dock it at another station when you’re finished. The first 30 minutes are free, and the residential streets of Montrose are perfect for cruising. Our trails and bayou systems are connected, so you could start in Montrose, but easily find yourself in Downtown, Heights, Texas Medical Center or even farther by the time you finish.

4. Stages Repertory Theater
   Stages Repertory Theater has been a staple in the Houston theater community for decades – since 1978, in fact. It’s known for its bold year-round plays, musicals, and modern takes on classics. The theater is small, so there’s no need to worry about grabbing a good seat to enjoy the show.
