History: Named after General John A. Logan, Camp Logan was originally a World War I-era training camp for army soldiers. In 1918, the camp was decommissioned. Brothers Mike and Will Hogg purchased 875 acres of the land but never developed homes on it, so they sold the land to the city of Houston. The city then turned the area into a park dedicated to the memories of World War I soldiers. Although most of the old camp is presently in Memorial Park, this neighborhood is technically a part of it.
