Where to Find the Best Pies in Houston
One of the best things about the holiday season is the pie. Luckily for us Houstonians, the city is full of amazing bakeries and shops that sell pie. Here are my tips on where to find the best pies in Houston! For even more options, check out our list from 2017!
Located at 436 West Crosstimbers, the Flying Saucer is one of the city’s oldest family-owned bakeries and has been a local favorite for quite some time. During this time of year, there are usually long lines outside its doors, so go early if you can. The Flying Saucer is known for its wide selection of fruit, cream, and seasonal pies. They also sell some pretty incredible cheesecakes!
This bakery’s reputation for creating some of Houston’s best pies is well-deserved, and with 45 years of experience, it’s certainly no wonder why. Its pies are also made the old-fashioned way with zero preservatives, which is a rarity. House of Pies’ four convenient locations each offer numerous varieties to choose from.
You can find the Pie Factory at 5611 Bellaire Boulevard, Suite 128, and they’ve been serving metropolitan Houston for over 30 years. The pies are baked in deep 10-inch pans, so you definitely won’t be disappointed by the size of each slice. With at least three dozen types of pies, it would take you a while to try everything on the menu. In addition to their yummy pies, they bake up specialty desserts, cakes, and sweets for special occasions.
Goode Company Barbeque
If you’re more in the mood for a single slice of pie, Goode Company Barbeque offers an incredible slice of Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie. I would recommend it to anyone! It’s the perfect way to end a meal full of delicious beef brisket and pork ribs.
Pappadeaux is known for its fantastic seafood, but it ought to be more known for its Sweet Potato Pecan Pie. You can’t go wrong when you top gumbo or a nice plate of crawfish with the perfect slice of pecan pie.
And for Those in the Suburbs…
Not only is Proud Pie in Katy a great place to go to grab breakfast or lunch, it’s also a fun place to grab a slice of pie – or perhaps a whole one. They have some pretty neat varieties, too! Big Texas Bourbon Pecan Pie and Snickerdoodle Peach Pie are just a couple options to look forward to.
If you’re ever out by Conroe, Pie in the Sky is definitely worth a visit. They offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, catering, and of course, pie (among other sweets). The Raspberry Sugar Cream is delicious, as is the Buttermilk! Curbside pickup and delivery are available.
