Zander Homes Builds Custom Homes in Houston Heights Area
Working with buyers, I tour a lot of homes and meet a lot of builders. It isn’t often that I see a home that really does something different, but Zander Homes wowed me from the moment I walked into a spec house back in early 2015. Zander Homes builds custom homes in Houston Heights area and the greater Houston area. I met with the owner, Justin Henry to tour a finished home and discuss building a home in Sawyer Heights for a buyer client I had at the time. He explained to me that a buyer can purchase a beautiful home that Zander Homes has already handcrafted, or a buyer can get really involved and customize every little detail; it just depends on the budget.
A standard Zander Homes house starts in the low $400,000 range and already exceeds the ever-so-popular cookie-cutter house on the market in Houston, Texas. The first thing that jumped out at me when I toured a Zander Home was the wrought-iron staircase; most other homes have a wall of sheetrock along the staircase. On nearly every corner, you’ll find townhouse developments of 8 to 12 units, 3 to 4 stories tall with an effort to catch a glimpse of the downtown skyline. Zander Homes is different. The homes are handcrafted with custom built-ins and cabinets, hand-scraped and stained engineered wood, wrought-iron staircases, crown molding, and a personal attention to detail. Zander Homes isn’t buying prefabricated cabinets from Home Depot or some other distributor, either. The very second thing I noticed when touring a new home in the Historic First Ward near Sawyer Heights was a beautiful custom detail to the kitchen island. The carpenter for Zander Homes truly handcrafts the cabinets and built-ins. Buyers can go with the spec cabinets (still handcrafted), or they may choose from a variety of different options including a built-in pantry. Even the detail of the cabinets can be upgraded to have a glazed and inked look. The spec fixtures in brushed nickel are lovely as they are, but buyers have choices here, as well! Every Zander Homes house includes a Rinnai tankless water heater, spray foam insulation, are pre-wired for security and surround sound, have low flow plumbing, energy efficient low-e windows and a tile budget. These are just a few of the standard options included in every home, but there is so much more. Something you won’t see much of in central Houston, such as Houston Heights, are 2 story homes with yards, but Zander Homes offers this, and in the $400s. And, the bedrooms are huge compared to everything else on the market. Zander Homes has 2 completed projects at this time, and a luxury home under construction, as well. There is a 2 home development in Sawyer Heights located at 1608 Bingham Street with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and featuring 1st Floor living, private yards & driveways, plus high end finishes starting in the $450s. In the Houston Heights, at 805 W.23rd Street, there are 4 story townhomes of 2400 square feet featuring 3 & 4 bedroom plans w/ gameroom starting at $430K. For those interested in the Bellaire area, they are breaking ground on a new custom build at 5019 Evergreen Street. The home will be 4311 square feet, 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom and have a game room & home theatre. The home will feature commercial grade 48” appliances, designer light fixtures “Circa” and more. It is projected to be priced at $1.35M, but we’ll see how excited and carried away with finishes and upgrades Mr. Henry gets. He has a true love for what he does and wants every home to be as beautiful as possible. Are you ready for a tour of Zander Homes? Give me a call today! 832-513-9931
